Melissa Shields · Montana real estate agent · REAL Broker

A real connection.
A place to call home.
Real estate is more than a change of address. It’s a new chapter, a big decision, and a deeply personal journey.
I’m Melissa Shields, a Montana real estate agent with REAL Broker. From the Bitterroot Valley to Drummond and beyond, my approach starts with listening—and keeps your goals at the center of every conversation.
Montana is home.
And family is at the heart of it.

Born and raised in Hamilton, Montana, I’m proud to call the Bitterroot Valley home. It’s where I grew up, graduated from Hamilton High School, raised our children, built a life with my husband, and created countless memories along the way.
From dirt bikes and mountain adventures to Little League baseball, family gatherings, and the everyday moments that make a life, Montana isn’t just where we live. It’s part of who we are.
My education through the University of Montana’s Bitterroot College included real estate and property management, business, accounting, and marketing. Combined with a lifetime of local connections and community involvement, those experiences have shaped how I approach real estate.
Because I understand that buying or selling a property is rarely just about the property itself.
It’s about the life you’re creating, the memories you’re making, the opportunities ahead, and sometimes the courage it takes to begin a new chapter.
My role isn’t to decide what home should look like for you. It’s to listen, understand what matters most, explore the possibilities, and help you get there.
That’s what Relationships Over Transactions means to me.
Relationships Over Transactions.
Listen first
Your goals, your timeline, and your sense of home are where the conversation begins.
Keep you connected
Thoughtful updates and candid conversations help make a significant decision feel more grounded.
Look beyond the closing
The goal is a meaningful relationship—not just a completed transaction.
Let’s talk about your next chapter.
Buying, selling, or just considering what’s next? There’s no pressure. Just a real conversation.
